Another Watford, Another Record ...

Lewis Hayes continues his fine early season form and showed that the U20 800m club record is likely to be broken further still this season when he sliced almost a second from his 2 week old record to record 1:54.26 in the BMC Gold Standard race and record a English Schools qualification time. Lewis was not phased in his step up in class and run a fine controlled race to power his way to victory in the BMC men’s C race with his now trademark blistering finish, finishing comfortably 1.5 seconds ahead of second place. Lewis now take s a short break from racing to prepare for his final fitness tests for possible entry into the Royal Marines, and we wish him the best of luck.

Also running at Watford was U13 Emily Williams who sliced two seconds from her 1500 PB with 5:12 with a fine run, and now looks forward to returning to her preferred distance of 800m at the HOE match on Sunday, and Chloe Hearne sampling a Watford open meeting for the first time recording a solid 5:40 who will also look to build on this at the HOE match.
