The opening BMC meeting for most of the squad saw some terrific early season openers for many of the KTH Middle Distance Squad, in near ideal condition at Corby. There was a total of 10 PB's from the on-fire KTH squad and two English Schools qualification times as icing on the cake!
Pride of place went to U13 Emily Williams and U17 Ella Palmer who both reached the all important English Schools Qualification times with a superb race which featured 5 of the squads 800m specialists.
Ella Palmer & Emily Williams both ran English Schools Qualification times!

Jake Trent had the privilege of pacing the race which saw U20 Fran Ashworth open her 2015 800m account with a great 2:16.7 to finish the top Harrier in an absolute cracker of a race, and post a time just 0.7 outside of the ES quali time, with undoubtedly much more to come!
13 year old Emily Williams just managed to hold of Ella Palmer as they were neck and neck on the finishing straight to finish with a hugely impressive 2 second PB and an all important ES qualification mark of 2:17.2, she was delighted to set such a fast time in her opening race. Ella Palmer who has made huge strides this season in the 800m and running in her first BMC and against her club colleagues she delivered the goods with her third PB in a row and importantly a ES quali time of 2:17.3, and both girls clearly have much more to come. Henri Codling also ran a superb race to finish just behind the trio of girls and post a new PB in his first race with 2:18.7 showing he also has a lot to offer as a bottom year U15, U13 Dylan Bowley was the last Harrier home but was not disappointed as he also set a near 4 second PB of 2:20.5 just outside of Henri's 2014 Club record of 2:20.2 and this will surely be under pressure as the season progresses?
Also setting a new PB was Jed Hayes who ran a cracking race to finish in third to slice a second from his best with 1:57.4, Jed made his move with 200m to go but just lacked the legs to hold on to 2nd place.
Matt Brookes running his first 800m, took to it well and set a very respectable 2:10.8 and will hopefully compete at this distance more often?
Dannielle Mccann-Gaskell ran a very brave race taking the pace on from the gun and she held the lead until the final 100m and was just beaten into second place but was delighted that she smashed her previous PB by over 20 seconds...with a fantastic 2:29.5, Elana Albery growing with confidence with each race also set a super new 6 second PB with 2:31.8, and Amy Robinson also showed good pace at the finish to also slice over 2 seconds from her PB & post a new lifetime best of 2:33.0.
Abby Coleman (800m 2:31.9) & Claudi Nevett (1500m 5:06.2) both ran SB and Josh Golding set a PB with his first 3k with 10:17.5, with Edward Cannell just forging ahead of him on the bell lap to ran a SB 10:10.7.
All in all a Fantastic Early season BMC race with some outstanding performances indicating that 2015 is going to be another great season for the KTH Middle Distance Squad!
Well Done to ALL
