Bowley bows out on a High

Dylan Bowley capped off what has been a somewhat disrupted track season with his third club record in his first ever 3,000m track race. Running his last race of the season and building on his recent 1500m Silver medal, PB & Club record set a few days earlier at the Midland Counties Championships Bowley was in fine form at his favoured Watford open meeting, and paced the 7.5 lap race to perfection and smash the existing club record held by club college, Jack Hope, by more than 13 seconds with 9:19.69 to move to 14th in the UK National rankings. Bowley builds on his top 20 UK rankings this season for both the 800m & 1500m, and has produced a clean sweep of Club records in all three events to underline his strength in depth and huge ability over a range of distances.

Also setting fine new PB’s in the 1500m were Jack hope, who is finally in top shape following his return from his first year at Cardiff University to set a fine new PB and edge closer to the magical 4:00 barriers for the event. Hope ran a fine race to shave 3 seconds from his PB with 4:03.11, and will look to go Sub 4 in his last race of the season at the Trafford BMC meeting in a few days’ time. Running in his first Watford open, bottom year U13 Lucas Rogers also sliced 4 seconds of his PB to move closer to the 5:00 minute barriers with 5:02.93, and head the crop of talented KTH youngsters in the age group.

Well done to all three athletes.
