U13 Dylan Bowley continued his superb start to the XC season and put in a terrific performance at the second UK cross challenge at Liverpool to maintain a slender lead in the U13B series with a highly credible 7th place finish.
Dylan, who was second in the opening fixture in Milton Keynes, made a terrific start in the 136 athlete field leading the race at the first turn, a lead which he maintained for the first 1.5km. In horrendously wet conditions the top quality field, which saw most of the UK’s leading U13B competing, gradually caught Dylan and last year UK cross winner Tommy Dawson was leading a small breakaway group in the closing stages.
Dylan had a close battle in the finishing straight and had the satisfaction of defeating Mike Spill who was the winner in the opening fixture to complete the 3km course in 10:39, Tommy Dawson was the winner in 10:11.
Dylan will look to compete in the final two UK mainland meetings in Cardiff in the New Year and the final which is incorporated in the Inter-counties meeting in early March.
Well done Dylan!
