Emily makes it number 8

Emily Williams continued the excellent 2014 track season being enjoyed by the KTH middle distance squad with the 8th Club Record to be broken with a magnificent run at the Oxford open graded meeting last night.

Emily agonisingly missed out on breaking the 2005 U13 Girls 800m Club Record by just 0.1 of a second just a week ago at Watford but made NO mistake this time when she sliced two seconds from the record to record a superb 2:19.51 which moves her to 4th in the UK national rankings.

The Oxford meeting was a late substitution for the cancelled BMC meeting in Coventry where a number of Harriers were due to run, and it proved to be a smart move as conditions were ideal for fast times. Emily ran a determined race and split in 68.1 seconds in third place and continued to push on the bell lap, and then unleashed her trademark 200m sprint finish to grab second place and etch her name in the KTH record books, her main target all year!

Emily will now look to set a sub 5:00 1500m time to conclude what has been a magnificent season.

Congratulations to Emily.
