Emily scoops nsport award

Emily Williams secured her second award in the space of a few weeks when she scooped the nsports Young Sportswoman of the year Award for the second year running. Emily was up against some very strong competition and was voted ahead of 6 leading local young sportswomen all of whom had reached significant levels within their sport.

Emily was selected for the Northamponshire Sports Awards after winning the rising star award at the Kettering Sports Awards on the back of her most successful track season ever, which saw her win a European U18 Championship Silver Medal in the 1500m in her first full GB International. She followed up by securing the English Schools National 1500m title, and then going on the win Gold at the SIAB British & Irish Championship. She is unbeaten over 1500m this season in her age group, and has set 4 of the top 5 fastest times in the UK, and is the UK number 1 at 1500m & UK number 2 at 800m.

Coach Shane Smith who was also nominated for Community Coach of the year at the nsports awards was delighted with Emily's win, "Emily was up against some formidable competition this year so to be voted the best young sportswoman is incredibly special".
