Bottom Year under 15 Erin Healy earned herself 2 Gold Medals at the Rugby & Northampton Spring Medal Open held at the Rugby AC track in atrocious conditions with a significant 20mph headwind.
Despite the conditions Erin ran well and in her first race of the day over 300m she easily won her Age Group competition by a significant 1.4 seconds with a swift time of 44.7 which was the fastest time of the day.
Erin followed this up with a fine 200m completed in 28.0 seconds maintaining her form well and earning herself another gold medal, beating top year U15 local rivals from Rugby and Northampton in the process, and again easily recording the fastest U15 time on the day.
Erin has made a positive start to the 2015 track season and now hopes for calmer conditions to build on her fine start.
Two other athletes who also competed were U13 girls Millie Houghton in the 800m who ran well to record 3:17.3 and Mia Brockway who battled hard in the conditions to record a solid 6:11.1 at 1500m.
