Fresh from her Silver medal performance at the Midland Counties Championships last weekend, Fran Ashworh broke the 18 year old club record for the U15 Girls 800m yesteday at the Watford Graded meeting. The previous record of 2.16.6 held jointly by Simone Hardy (1994), and Heidi Mains (2006) was reduced to 2.16.31 with a superb battling run. Fran who was looking to finish the track season with a fast time, began with a sizzling opening 400m split of 65 seconds for the first lap, and held on strong finishing just behind the winner who clocked 2.15.95. Fran is now listed in 13th spot on the UK power of ten rankings.
