Paul Thompson (V50) a member of Kettering Town Harriers but living in the USA, (still occasionally competing in KTH club colours), won his first world Championship Title and gold medal in the World Masters Half Marathon held in Perth Australia on the 6th November. Completing the 13.1 mile course in a time of 72:48.
This is made even more remarkable, as Paul won silver in the World Masters Cross Country Championships the previous week, also held in Perth Australia, finishing just 3 seconds behind the winner Bruce Graham from Australia, helping GB to pick up team silver as well. Paul completed the 8 km course in a time of 27:18.
