Hard going for relay teams

The Harriers fielded four teams in the National Cross Country relays at Mansfield and they found the going quite tough in comeptition with the very best endurance athletes in the country.

Top performers were again the Under 13 Boys team of Josh Cara, Jack Hope and Ethan Mehmet, who finished a very creditable 21st. In fact, after Jack's second leg they lay in a remarkable 5th place. Josh's leg was just outside the top ten fastest of the day.

The Under 15 Girls all ran steadily to finish 59th. The team was made up of Fran Ashworth, Lauren Mehmet and Kayli Walford.

It was good to see the Junior Men fielding a team, which comprised Jonny Goringe, Dave Edwards and Dan Thompson. They weren't confident about their chances, but managed to keep away from the bottom few places with a finishing spot of 49th.

The final event was for the Senior Men's team, which included Andrew Clawson, Alan Rain and Shane Smith and finished 124th, a respectable position in a large field.
