There were some impressive performances on the opening HofE fixture of the Track & Field season from the KTH from the youngsters, making the most of ideal conditions with warm weather and little wind to make a positive start to the track season in the first league meeting.

In the MD squad the main highlights was superb 1500m debut from Jacob Asher-Relf who front ran a superb race to break 5:00 in his first race over the distance and move to UK 21st with 4:53.2, front running with no one for company there will clearly be much more to come,

Similarly, Harriett Round making her 800m debut also ran a superb race to win in style with an excellent clocking of 2:30.6 and a UK top 30 position, Harriett also will have much more to give as the season progresses.

There was a great opening 800m for Brandon Raulia with 2:19.4, to win the A race in style leading from the gun, and in the B race there was a solid 2nd place and new PB with 2:30.1 for Ben Brooker In the 600's two of the squads outstanding youngsters secured 2nd place's in both the A&B races with Jemima Davey running 2:01 dead, and Maggie Ganceva slicing 7 seconds of her best with a fine 2:00.2, both showing great potential.

In the 300's the squad showed their speed over the longer sprints with a fine win and new PB for Adam Jawad in the U15 B race, winning in 41.6, and Josh Geddes in his first race for some time following injury streching his legs with a fine debut in the 300m in 42.4 to win the B race as a non-scorer.

In the 1500m U15 A runner Josh Clutton built on his recent 5:09 PB in the KTH midweek open to slice another 7 seconds off with a fine 5:02.3, and U15 B Rio Carr ran well also to set another 1500m PB with 5:16

Sprint Squad

Warm conditions helped the sprinters to produce a total of 11 personal bests, with 3 athletes also managing to equal their best performances. Leading the way was Lewis-Morgan Barton in the U17 boys 100m & 200m who ran new personal bests of 11.6 seconds, and 23.4 seconds. Joe Bradley also ran a new personal best in the U17 boys 100m in a time of 11.6, and followed this with a 3rd placing in the 200m in 23.8 seconds.

Double personal bests were also recorded by Cole Sinnott in the U15 boys age group, and Harmony Hart in the U17 girls age group. Cole’s times were 12.7 seconds and 26.2 seconds, while Harmony ran 13.6 seconds and 27.9 seconds.

Cynthia Ike showed fine form to win both of her races in the U15 girls age group, recording times of 12.7 seconds to equal her personal best in the 100m, and 26.5 seconds in her first race of the season over 200m. Max Mowforth equalled his 100m best in the U15 boys age group, finishing 2nd in 11.9 seconds, he then followed this with a win in the 200m in a time of 24.9 seconds. His sister, Lulu, also ran a personal best of 11.8 seconds in the U11 girls 75m race. Meanwhile, William Robertson produced yet another personal best of 13.7 seconds in the U13 boys 100m.
