Henri doubles up in record books

Henri Codling bagged his second Club Record of the 2014 season to take the squads total for new Club Records in the 2014 season to 9 with an excellent 1500m race at the latest Watford Graded meeting. Henri who recently set a new club record for 800m which has stood since 1978, comprehensively beat the similarly long standing U13 boys 1500m club record from 1979 with a superbly paced race, Henri spent much of the 4:35 paced race at the back, but remained in contention throughout, and managed a superb sprint finish to take 8 athletes on route to finishing in 6th position with 4:43.54, and move to 17th in the UK national rankings.

Also enjoying the perfect conditions was U13 Emily Williams looking for her first sub 5 minute clocking, but falling short by an agonising 0.2 seconds with an excellent run of 5:00.23 to finish in 6th place and knock 8 seconds from her PB which takes her to 9th in the UK national rankings. Fran Ashworth also knocked over 6 seconds from her previous best for her less preferred distance with a solid run for 9th place with 4:47.14, and the Robinson Sisters Amy, Jennifer & Daisy all ran well to record time close to their PB.

Also running in the 3k was Claudia Nevett who enjoyed a fine run to set a new lifetime best of 10:30.58 with a superb evenly paced run to edge closer to the ES qualification time she has her sights set on for 2015. Also in a rare excursion to Watford for the sprint group, U13 Erin Healy enjoyed her first taste of the evening open meetings with a superb race to finish second with an electronic timed PB of 27.54 to maintain her position of 13th in the UK rankings.
