Kettering Town Harriers Road Runners delivered a season of outstanding performances in the prestigious East Midlands Grand Prix (EMGP), a popular series of eight challenging road races held across weekday evenings from May to July.
This year’s EMGP saw a fantastic turnout from the Harriers, with sixteen dedicated athletes representing the club across all eight events: Silverstone 10k, Blisworth 5, Banbury 5, Harborough 5, Weedon 10k, Corby 5, MK 10k, and the Rugby 6. The Silverstone 10k alone drew a record-breaking 1,700 participants, highlighting the growing popularity of the series.

The Harriers team included: Richard Bailey, Phil Brigden, Samantha Brockway, Claire Brooker, Rafal Buzuk, Josh Cannell, Matt Eckett, Iona Ellwood, Steve Green, Jamie Harris, Neil Loake, Amelia McMurtrie, Ron Searle, Casey Stevenson, Mark Weathersby, and Phil West.
Big turnout for the Harriers Road Runners in the Harborough 5 mile

Team performances were particularly strong, with the Masters Men securing first place at Banbury, Corby, and Market Harborough, narrowly missing out on the overall title to R&N. The Senior Men’s team also impressed, finishing 3rd out of 34 competing teams.
Individually, the Harriers celebrated numerous personal bests and podium finishes. Mark Weathersby and Phil West claimed overall victories in the M40 and M55 categories respectively. Neil Loake (2nd M40) and Raf Buzuk (3rd M45) also earned podium spots, while Steve Green placed 5th in M45 and Richard Bailey finished 33rd in the Senior Men’s category.

The newly revitalised Road Runners section saw hundreds of pounds in Up and Running vouchers awarded, recognising the club’s commitment to excellence and development.
Kettering Town Harriers remain proud supporters of the EMGP, a well-organised and inclusive series open to runners of all ages and abilities. With EMGP 2026 already marked on the calendar, the Harriers look forward to another season of camaraderie, competition, and shared success.
