KTH Awarded Clubmark Certificate

Kettering Town Harriers were presented with their Clubmark certificate by Local Club and Coach Support Officer June Swift. Obtaining Clubmark will support the club in their ongoing development.

To become an accredited, a club needs to complete a club portfolio containing evidence to be assessed against the Clubmark checklist, provide attendance at four short workshops, and host a site visit for a Clubmark assessor.

Bill Bailey, Club Chair commented, “It takes a lot of hard work to collate all the information and to ensure that the club is complying with the regulations set down to achieve the clubmark standard. To obtain this standard is a tremendous achievement and I would like to thank the committee, coaches and all the volunteers at the club who assisted Sarah Bailey in putting together our application. With the Olympic effect raising the profile of athletics, successfully obtaining the Clubmark shows to all athletes new or old that the club is a safe, accessible and proactive place to take part in athletics and demonstrates that we are striving to develop the highest levels of coaching practice.”

June Swift added “Kettering Town Harriers is a vibrant, welcoming club with a strong coaching infrastructure. It is fantastic that the club has achieved Clubmark accreditation; this is down to the hard work of the club volunteers. Special thanks must go to all Committee members, in particular Sarah Bailey, who have generously given their time and efforts to gain this accreditation.”
