KTH Floodlit open

The first of the KTH floodlit open meetings this season took place in near perfect conditions, which saw the track bathed in glorious warm evening sunshine, ideal condition which saw an incredible 54 PB’s set & no less than 4 club records broken.

For the MD squad there Some outstanding performances with 15 squad PB's and a new U11 600m club record from Jacob Asher-Relf with a superb run to record 1:45.69, with an incredible front running display.

Other key highlights was a first Sub 5:00 min 1500m clocking for Poppy Carmichael who set a fantastic new PB of 4:58.19 in her first 1500m of the season, with Brandon Raulia agonisingly missing out on the same milestone with a superb finish to slice 5 seconds from his PB with 5:00.41 and pipping twin Ryan who finished in 5:15.35. Other highlights from the 1500m saw a fine debut for Alfie Frayne (5:16.43) & Jack Watson (4:44.37), and Vet 45 Tony James ran a fine race to set a new vet PB of 4:47.17 finishing in 4th place in a race won by Edward Cannell with a fine run in 4:38.08.

In the 800m there was a great debut in the red & white vest for Morgan Potter (recent addition to the squad from Corby A/C) who set a 3 second PB in his season opener to show there is much more to come! Also in the 800m there was a PB for Charlotte Maywood with a fine run for 2:33.92, a new 4 second PB for Josh Cannell (2:14.84), 2 second PB for Josh Geddes (2:35.05), and new bests for U13 Ollie Barbosa (2:39.52), U15 Mia Brockway (2:43.81), U13 Adam Jawad (2:24.09), and new recruits Reo Carr (2:52.6) & Lily Bryne 2:59.64.

There was a welcome return for Jack Hope back from Uni for the summer with a rare outing in the 800m showing he is in good shape with a win in the A race and a SB of 2:03.92.

In the U11 Squad, headed by Amanda Marlow saw two superb performances from William Robertson in the 75m and the 150m to break Club Records, and show he is a real prospect. There were also 75m sprint PB’s – recorded by Lulu Mowforth, Kate Campbell, Elizabeth Reading, Ayrton Rice, Evan Young, Elliott Shourbourne.

Sprint Sqaud

Cynthia Ike PB'd in the 100m in this meeting with a time of 12.98, and equalled her best in the 200m. Joining her in achieving a new PB was Emmanuel Mbu, who reduced his time to 11.66 seconds, & also equalled his best in the 200m. Erin Healy put in another consistent run for the season in the 100m, recording a time of 12.75 seconds. She followed this up with a 26.06 in the 200m.

Harmony Hart joined the party by recording a 200m best of 28.7 seconds. Millie Webb debuted in the 300m and posed a time of 46.7 seconds. Training partner, Nicole Mukhtar reduced her PB in the 100m to 15.94, and followed this up recording a time of 33.22 in her first 200m race.
 

Well done to all the athletes who competed, and with so many PB's & Club Records broken the future looks very bright indeed.
