Cold conditions affected performances at the second Kettering Open Meeting of the year. Athletes that managed to overcome the conditions and produce personal bests were Alex Beale who reduced her 100m time to 13.19 seconds, and followed this with a 200m run in a time of 26.82w. Joe Bradley ran well in the 100m to reduce his personal best to 11.74w.
William Robertson’s early season form continued with a new personal best in the 200m of 28.47 seconds. Meanwhile, Erin Healy returned to form to record season’s bests with runs of 12.79w and 26.16w.
For the middle distance squad there were some early season encouraging performances in the 800m with New PB’s for Lucas Rogers 2:34.75, Rio Carr 2:36.22 and some decent opening performances from Tony James (2:12.40) Poppy Carmichael (2:32.09) & Harriett Jolley (2:37.10). In the 600m there were new PB from tow of the up and coming youngsters, Jemima Davey 2:01.48 who won in style, with Maggie Ganceva finishing in second place in 2:07.17.
In the 400m there was a great battle between Tom Jawad & Morgan Potter with the former just edging out his club colleague to win in 53.30 and new SB, while Potter set a fine new PB with 54.22. In the 1500m there were new PB’s from Josh Clutton (5:09.86) Harriett Round (5:30.89) in a race won by Edward Cannell in 4:44.88
There was a very good race betwen KTH's Jonathan Goringe & Birchfields Ed Banks in the 200m steeplechase with Goringe winning in 6:12.48 a SB.
