KTH host England Athletics CEO

Chris Jones, CEO of England Athletics took time out of his busy schedule popped in to say hello to the new KTH chairman Matt Brown and to meet athletes, coaches and members of the wider team at Kettering Town Harriers this Tuesday.

Chris who was joined by Andy Barber EA Media Manager showed a real interest in the clubs heritage, current activities and plans for the future, It was a very cordial visit and a chance for the head of our national governing body to see some of the fine work the coaches do week in and out as they were putting their athletes through their paces, and to see some of the “KTH” hospitality on offer at the Club.

There was also a great opportunity to discuss any ongoing issues and good progress was made in terms to discussing the subject of lighting on the back straight of our track in terms of possible funding opportunities. KTH chairman Matt Brown commented “I got the impression he was quite taken by the buzz about the place and that we were clearly looking to move things forward re-decorating the club house, new kit etc. I also think he was keen to indicate how he (or his team) could help”.

We'd like to thank Chris for coming to see us on such a cold dark evening in February and hope to see him and his team again soon.

And thanks to all the Harriers who were there to show him what KTH is all about!
