Lauren flying high!

Lauren Mehmet from the KTH middle distance squad has enjoyed considerable success over the past few weeks competing over 5km X Country distance for the Kettering Air Cadets Squadron where she is an active member. On 20th February at RAF Wittering, Lauren running in her normal fashion trainers (as her spikes were not suitable for parts of the course) beat 120 other runners to finish in first place. As a result of the win Lauren qualified for the Inter-wing Cross Country Championships (Central & Eastern Region) held on Sunday 20th March at RAF Cranwell and running against the top 24 athletes in the Central & Eastern region Lauren again ran brilliantly to lead from start to finish and take the title. Lauren has now been asked to represent the Air Cadets in a ALL UK final with athletes from England Ireland, Scotland and Wales competing, to be held again at RAF Cranwell on Saturday 26th March where hopefully she can repeat her successes from the earlier rounds (Familiarity of the course should help).

Congratulations and Good Luck for Saturday!
