Liverpool Success for Josh & Jack

Josh Cara & Jack Hope fresh from collecting a number of awards from the KTH awards night both made the sacrifice to get an early night in preparation for the long journey to Liverpool to compete in the UK Cross Challenge, and were rewarded with excellent performances. Both boys were competing in the U15 Boys race with 126 athletes contesting from around the UK. Josh Cara enjoyed one of his best races for the Harriers over XC and got off to a flying start on a very wet Sefton Park over the shorter than ideal 3km distance and after the customary 200m sprint start he found himself right up amongst the leaders, with Jack a little further back in a second pack just off the front runners. Josh had a magnificent race and held onto the leading pack of 5 all the way through to secure his highest position ever in the UK Cross challenge with 4th position in 10:16, just 11 seconds off the leader Josh Kerr Edinburgh AC (10:05), proving that he had finally shook off an injury which had prevented him from training at his best over the last month. Jack also had superb race maintaining his position within the main chasing pack to finish in an excellent 29th position in 10:54.

Congratulations to both Athletes.
