A number of the KTH middle distance squad competed in the last Watford open meeting looking for quick times, and Kayli Walford led the way with a superb victory in her race against fellow Harriers Sophie Munn & Jess Gordon. Kayli sliced over two seconds from her previous best to record 2:20.53. Sophie also ran a superb race to record her fastest time in over 7 years for 4th position in 2:22.06 just a fraction slower than her PB she set as an under 13 (when she was ranked Number One in the UK).
Jess ran well in a bruising race and found herself boxed in the final bend but ran near her PB with 2:21.72. Beth Gordon and Rebecca Hughes also ran together and also both emerged with new lifetime bests, Beth recording her 2nd PB in 2 days with 2:33.28, and Rebecca Hughes following up with her impressive win in the Chairman’s Cup with a new PB of 2:34.13. Fran Ashworth finished in 2:21.
