A Sportsall competition took place on Sunday 23rd November between various Northamptonshire athletic Clubs for the purpose of some good indoor athletic competition for the Under 11s and Under 13s. This was also an ideal opportunity for the local athletic talent to be spotted and if appropriate nominated for County selection. Clubs who took part in addition to Kettering were Corby AC, Silson Joggers AC, Daventry AC, Wellingborough and District AC and Harborough AC,
The event was great fun and created a nice and friendly, but competitive atmosphere for the athletes. Club pride was at stake and our Team performed brilliantly.
23 athletes in U11 and u13 girls and boys took part. All athletes were able to compete in a maximum of three track and 2 field events and included individual races, sprints and paarlaufs, relays and obstacle relays, as well as long, triple and vertical jumping, speed bounce and throws!
Even younger family members were invited to take part as well as Team Managers!
The Club athletes competed brilliantly, winning the U11 boys and U13 categories and finishing 3rd and 4th in U11 girls and U13 boys. Full teams were available in all categories except for U13 boys who despite their small numbers did admirably well.
There were many individual victories on the day, too many to mention, but everyone should be congratulated on their team spirit and effort.

The regional finals of Sportsall will be held in Grantham on Sunday 15th February 2015 and is a great event. A panel will be meeting to consider the results from the event to decide on County selection and athletes will be contacted in due course, if selected.
