The Harriers Senior Men’s road running squad achieved an excellent third place in the final team standings for the East Midlands Grand Prix, which was completed with the Milton Keynes 10K, held in sweltering conditions during June’s heatwave.
In an extremely close finish, the team, consisting of Jonathan Goringe, Phil West, Andrew Clawson and Matt Smith, did enough to hold off the challenges of Wootton Road Runners and Milton Keynes AC, to clinch the overall third spot by a single point, behind Coventry Godiva and Rugby & Northampton AC. This is an excellent achievement in a series that has seen as many as 40 different clubs competing.
