Currently there are 14 teams in the league spread across East Anglia.  Matches are on the first Wednesday of the month in May, June, July and August and run from 7.00 - 9.00 pm.

The division we would be in, includes the following clubs; Bedford, Milton Keynes, Cambridge & Coleridge, Biggleswade, Huntingdonshire, Fairlands valley spartans(a road running club from Stevenage), and Wellingborough

The matches are

May 4th 2011 - Bedford

June 1st 2011 - Cambridge

July 6th 2011 - Huntingdonshire

August 3rd 2011 - Milton Keynes

Match 1 & 3 100m, 400m, 1500m , LJ, HJ, Shot, Hammer.

Match 2 & 4 200m, 800m, 3000m , PV, TJ, Discus, Javalin.

Each match ends with a different medlay relay- eg 800, 200, 200 , 400 to give a s many people as possible a chance to have a go.

Each match contains a race walk where the standard varies from International level at the front to a stroll home from the pub at the rear- there's no excuse for anyone not being able to make a contribution somewhere.

The best 8 teams from the league matches go through to a Final at Bedford on Sun 11th September which is a full match with trophies for the winning mens and ladies teams and medals for the athletes in the top 3 teams in each competition.  Men and women compete in the same match but they are separate competitions as there are different teams in each competition.  Clubs do not have to enter both mens and ladies teams.

Each event is split into 3 age groups;

Men- 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Women- 35-44, 45-54, 55+

With one athlete in each age group from each club (no club- even the largest covers all age groups in all events).  No minimum number of athletes per team.

Competing athletes have to be members of EVAC and the club has to have entered a team- £25 per team (so entering mens and womens teams would cost 2 x £25).

Individual EVAC members can enter if their club is not in the League (as long as they are EVAC members) but they miss out on the relays which are often the best part of the evening!
Also being in a team gives the athlete a chance of getting through to the final (no guests allowed there) which is a really good quality vets event..
