WELLINGBOROUGH 5 – Sunday 30th July 2017

Members of KTH showed good performance at this year’s annual road race which incorporates the Northants County Championships. A well organised local race by Wellingborough AC, with a fast fairly flat course, finishing on the field of the Old Grammarians sports club.


First home for KTH, in fine style was Stephen Thompson in 14th place, out of a field of 281 runners, in a time of 29mins 28. This gave him 5th position in his age group and he was rewarded by receiving a Gold County medal for his category. Next home in a time of 30mins 05 was Steve Green in 19th place. Ady King closely followed in 30th place in a time of 30mins 36, and Martin Allinson finished in 42nd place, a time of 31mins 44. Sean Gallagher was the next Harrier to cross the line in 33mins 59 & 65th place. First lady was Kerry Munn in 90th place overall, the 10th lady to finish, taking 1st place in her age group. She was well rewarded with a nice engraved glass trophy and took a County Gold medal for her efforts. Alan Rain was next to complete in 120th place & time of 37mins 01, & was pleased to receive a bronze County medal for his age group. He was followed in by Trudi Pike finishing in 126th, in a time of 37 mins 20, who took a County silver medal for her age category. Next home was Rob Britten, 38.38 & 137th, then Karen Albery in 39.13 & 147th, and completing the ladies was Jackie King in 184th and a time of 41.45, who received a County silver for her age group. Kerry Munn, Trudi Pike and Karen Albery concluded KTHs medal success by being awarded County silver for 2nd County ladies team.
