The second round of the Kettering Town Harriers 5K series saw Fran and Ian Walford, who were making their debuts, take advantage of generous handicapping to come home first on the circuit of the Leisure Village.
Evelyn Clawson was third finisher, with a significant improvement on her effort in the first race, although her time was two seconds slower than fastest female Jennifer Muffat and one behind Deb Galletta. Yvonne Elliott also ran an improved time.
On the men’s side, Phil West recorded the fastest time of the series (17:54), followed by Steve Giles (18:24). Joe Giammalva moved to the top of the standings with another improved performance, whilst former series winner Paul Marlow again moved up the rankings. Robert Fletcher showed the biggest improvement amongst the men.
The next round of the series is scheduled for 30th March.
