Bowley bags an indoor Silver!

Dylan Bowley produced a superb performance at the indoor Birmingham games, incorporating the Midland Counties Championships, to win a fantastic Silver medal in the 800m.

Bowley entered the competition to test the water and this was his first experience of competing indoors, and he produced an outstanding performance at his first attempt.. Taking the lead from the Gun Bowley led the race for the first 400m setting a very respectable pace, on the third lap with 400m to go Bowley was relegated to second place and decided to sit in behind the leader to then produce a very strong final 200m on the bell lap. Bowley, who was battling to hold second position with the third place athlete, surged past the leader on the final bend just failing to hold on to the third place athlete who took the Gold in 1:59.2, with Bowley recording a very fast indoor time of 1:59.8 to take the Silver.

Dylan Bowley a fine Silver in the 800m Midland Counties indoor Championships

This was Bowley first venture indoors, and to produce a performance of this quality, without any specific speed training in the middle of the cross country season shows great promises for the upcoming track season.

Congratulations Dylan!
