The Under 11s and Under 13s performed excellently at The Chairman's Cup competition on an extremely hot day, Sunday 14th July. Although the Club narrowly missed out on victory to Rugby and Northampton AC, the winning margin was only 16 points. The youngsters did their Club, their Coaches, their parents and themselves proud!
There were some fantastic achievements throughout the day with the majority of the 50 plus athletes for the Club gaining personal best performances in their events. For many this was their first competition and hopefully has given them confidence going forward.
Best performances of the day were Haydn Bennett who in the u13 Boys gained first place in the 100m, 200m and javelin as well as assisting his team mates to first in the relay.
Also Ethan Nelis and Dylan Bowley both broke the U11boys 800m club record which has stood since 2000. Dylan is now the current record holder for the Club breaking the previous record by over 10 seconds!

Please appreciate that not all athletes can be mentioned in this report but ALL athletes did their very best and all contributed to a memorable day. The athletes should be praised for their efforts.
The next event open to ALL athletes is the Club Open Meeting on Sunday 18th August. Athletes can and should pre-register before the event. Please go onto the Club website and under the fixtures section find the appropriate form and then email the application to [email protected]
This will save time on the day and avoid disappointment if any events are full. All club athletes planning to take part should enter via this facility.
