Dylan Bowley shrugged off the disappointment of falling slightly short of the English Schools qualification time by producing yet another top class performance at his favoured Watford track to smash the 1991 U15 Boys 1500m Club Record and also dip 2 seconds below the qualification mark, sadly just a week too late for the English Schools team selection. Dylan is still a bottom year in the age group, and with another years progression he will be a real force in 2017, and the Club Record is surly just a temporary marker?
Dylan ran a wonderfully even race with even 70 second laps for the first 1200m, which allowed his to finish strongly in the final 300m to beat the 25 year old Club Record by over a second, and move to a top 30 UK ranking with a superb time of 4:19.96, for his third Watford PB this season. Dylan will now switch attention to the 800m in an attempt to dip below the 2:10 milestone.

Also running significant 4 second PB’s were the Harriers two top U13’s females Freya Batkin & Mia Brockway who were both running in the same race. Freya got off to a fine start, setting in to the fore of the mid pack, but Mia didn’t get such a good start and found herself at the back of the pack, and she found it hard to make it back. Both athletes however produced a fine performance with a strong finish to break their PB’s by 4 seconds, with Freya finishing with a superb 5:17.56 to move inside the UK top 80, and Mia a fine 5:25.21 (top 150).

Well done to all athletes
