Field Event Open Kettering Town Harriers 15th April

Throws Round Up

There was a good turnout of athletes for all the throws and thanks are extended to all who competed as well as our dedicated team of Officials.

The meeting gave a valuable insight into the technical preparation put in place during winter training for KTH athletes who took part in their first meeting of the season.

Multi Eventers were on fine form with PB’s galore!

In the Shot Annabelle Udo launched the 4kg Shot to 9.55m pb after only one training session this year. Lucie Cleaver 6.96m pb and Matilda Abbott 5.37m pb followed suit with Emily Batchelor throwing a season best of 8.72m after a hectic winter of competitive swimming.

Over on the Javelin runway promising U15 thrower George Mills was not deterred by unfavourable weather conditions and threw a great pb of 37.43m. Teammate and 1st year U15 Aidan Hooks gave a splendid performance of 26.87m pb, his first outing with the heavier 600g implement.

Returning to the red/white hoops this season is Andy Mills who was able to demonstrate his years of experience by throwing the 1.5kg Discus 39.01m pb.

A great start to what promises to be an exciting year for Throws at KTH.
