A group of x4 Harriers from the middle distance squad have been giving up their valuable time to assist fellow Harrier Dan Thompson with a research paper as part of final year dissertation at Sheffield Hallam University.
Dan is researching the effects of Blood Lactate build up in the 800m distance event and possible pacing strategies to reduce the negative effects of a high build-up of Blood Lactate, and Claudia Nevett, Jess Gordon, Jack Hope & Ethan Mehmet from the squad (Pictured below with Dan) were involved in lactate profile testing, and race simulations at the hugely impressive facilities of the indoor athletics track at the Institute for Sport in Sheffield.
Dan will publish his finding in due course and the participants have in the meantime gained valuable indoor running experience, and information on the current levels of fitness with the outdoor track season less than 2 months away.
