Jed closes in on twin!

Jed Hayes ran a superb new 800m lifetime best at the prestigious BMC Oxford  Grand Prix, with an excellently paced race to knock 1.5 seconds from his previous best and record 1:54.58 to close in on Twin Lewis Hayes 2014 800m Club Record of 1:53.3, his main target in his first full season on track.

Jed who was accepted to compete despite being shy of the 1:55 qualification standard ran a terrific race sitting back a little from the pace maker and splitting in 56.5 he closed down the leader Alexander Hanson along the back straight, who had opened up a 15m gap on the opening lap, kicking hard with 150m to go and closing the leader all they way to line. Jed finished in a superb 2nd place more than justifying his selection, and proving he has much more to give in a terrific first full season.
