There we some outstanding performances from the Harriers middle distance squad at the latest Kettering Floodlit open yesterday, with 8PB's set and two New Club Records!
Jemima Davey who has been eyeing up some of the U11 girls records all season, finally broke the U11 800m club record of 2:44.0 set by Nicole Roberts in 2002 with a fantastic run to break the record by over 2 seconds with 2:41.71 to move into the UK top 10 for U11's, this is particularly impressive as Jemima still has another full year in the U11 AG!
Jemima Davey (87) set a new U11 800m Club Record of 2:41.71
In the same race three of the squad Boys also set impressive new PB's, Josh Clutton smashing his PB by 10 seconds with 2:20.56, and U13's Dylan White & Lucas Rogers having a royal battle with each other to set new PB's of 2:27.75 & 2:28.45 respectively, & Rio Carr equaling his PB with 2:34.26.
In the next race the outstanding performance of the night saw Jacob Asher-Relf smash his PB by over 6 seconds and set a new U13 Boys 800m Club Record of 2:12.52, shaving over 2 seconds from the previous best of 2:14.99 set in 2015 and move to 6th in the UK rankings. Again Jacob is a year young in the AG so there should be more to come from him next year especially as he is a full seven seconds ahead of his nearest bottom year rival. Ben Brooker shaved another 4 seconds from his PB with a fine run to record 2:20.68 & Ryan Raulia also knocked 3 seconds off his PB showing he is returning to fitness with 2:20.55.
