Middle distance update

Watford again produced some superb running for a small number of the KTH middle distance squad competing over 1500m, Jess Gordon who was still largely decided on which event, 800 or 1500m meters best suited her would have been helped with her decision with an outstanding new PB in the 1500m, looking for 4:44 English schools time with even 76 second laps Jess covered the first lap right on target, but dropped a few second off the pace by the second lap split, which prompted her to make a move and work to re-join the main pack and at the bell, Jess full of running, again responded and upped the pace to finish with 72 second bell lap to finish by far the strongest in the field to knock 5 seconds from her previous best with 4:46.9. and she will take confidence into the BMC race if a few days’ time that she can go quicker still and try to achieve the qualification mark.


Also running well to record new PB's were two of the Robinson sisters, with U15 Amy Robinson enjoying her first Watford outing in setting a new PB of 5:35, showing she can go faster, and U13 Jennifer Robinson also setting a new lifetime best of 5:51, youngers sister U13 Daisy Robinson also running well just outside her best with 6:03.


Park Run


A few of the KTH middle distance squad were in action in the counties various Park runs in a welcome change to track running and there were some outstanding performances. At the Northampton Park Run, 16 year old Josh Cara was the overall winner with a superb new PB of 16:19, to move to 3rd fasted time ever in the age category 15-17. Also running a superb race was 15 year old Claudia Nevett who reduced her PB by over 40 seconds to record her first ever sub 19:00 clocking with 18:41 to set the fastest time ever for her age group JW15-17, a record Claudia also holds for the J11-14 AG as well! Also setting a J11-14 AG record was 12 year old Emily Williams who won the Women’s Corby Park Run with a superb time of 21:49 with only her second ever park run.


Also running well was U13's Daisy Robison who also set a new PB of 26:05 (Northampton), Jennifer Robinson who ran just outside her best with 24:34 (Northampton) & Chloe Hearne who also set a 6 second PB of 23:34 (Corby) for third place in the women’s race.
