Midland League Report Banbury

The latest round of the Midland League saw some outstanding performances by the sprinters at the recent Midland League meeting at Banbury.  In the men’s 100m, Cole Sinnott had a superb run in the A race, winning his race in a new PB of 11.1 seconds.  The B race saw Zorhann Giraud also win in a PB of 11.2 seconds, while Lenon Muma won the C race in a PB of 11.7 seconds. Lewis-Morgan Barton, fresh from returning from university, ran a creditable 11.4 seconds in the non scoring race.  Harriet Cleaver and Elizabeth both recorded times of 13.0 seconds in their respective A and B races.  Sonal Rathod posted a time of 13.6 in the C race to finish 2nd, while Culley Cleaver ran in the non scoring race posting a time of 14.3 seconds.

 

Cole and Zorhann also won their 200m races in 22.3 and 23.9 seconds respectively.  Lenon also set a new PB in the 200m, winning in 24.9 seconds.  Harriet finished 3rd in her 200m to Daventry’s Cleo Martin-Evans, in a season best time of 27.3 seconds.  Elizabeth won her race in 26.9 seconds, while Sonal ran a season best of 27.9 seconds.  In the non scoring event, Ellie Warboys and Culley Cleaver posted times of 29.4 and 30.5 seconds respectively.  

 

U23 athlete, Caleb Corstin, was the sole entrant from the club in the 400m, finishing 5th in his race in 59.6 seconds.  Multi eventer, Matilda Braithwaite, made her debut in the 100m hurdles, finishing in a time of 18.0 seconds. 

 

Kettering won the men and women’s 4 x 100m relays, with the men winning by 80 metres in a time of 44.9 seconds, and the women winning in 52.5 seconds. The men then competed in the 4 x 400m relay.  With 3 of the athletes having never done this event, and 400m specialist, Cole Sinnott, opting out of competing after having a successful day in the shorter sprints, it was a tall order, and they finished 5th in 4.06.2 seconds.
