On a gorgeous evening the Veterans Team headed over to a sunny Pingles Stadium in Nuneaton.
With a few new additions to the Team the Men finished in 3rd place out of 8 overall and the Ladies finished in 4th.
In the Ladies section there was a welcome return to Sprinter, Katy Williams who ran well to finish 2nd in the 100m. Making her debut appearance, Elaine Fairbrother finished 3rd in the high jump, 6th in the 400m and also ran a 200m leg of the relay.
Trudi Pike and Barbara Poncia both ran well in the 1500m 4th and 5th respectively in the V35 and V40 races with Babs gaining a pb. Babs also ran in the relay. Paula Sinnott guested in the 1500m as well as finishing 7th in the shot.
Kerry Munn came 3rd in the V50 100m and 2nd in her favoured event 1500m and also ran in the relay team. Evelyn Clawson, also returning to the Veterans Team finished 4th in the 100m and 7th in the 400m.
Kathy Coleman had her normal busy night finishing 4th in the 2k walk and javelin, 2nd in the high jump and 5th in the shot, as well as a leg of the relay.
In the Men's Team Kevin Williams (aka Alexander Williams) Katy's husband, competed for the first time for KTH and ran well for 2nd in the V60 100m. Graham Pratt, still recovering from his recent marathon, also ran the 100m for 5th V35 and also ran a leg of the relay.
Rob Britten competed in the 2k Walk for 5th and 100m V50 100m. Steve Sinnott ran well for 2nd in the V40 100m and gained a pb in the triple jump (9.91) as well as running a leg of the relay.
Ross Brown gained a pb in the V35 400m in a time of 60.3. Sean Gallagher finished 6th in the hammer and 5th in the V35 1500m. Richard Coleman finished 5th in the V50 hammer and also made a guest appearance in the javelin. Andy Clawson ran well in the M40 1500m for 4th. Simon Rowe made his club debut in the Veterans to score a valuable point in the high jump and ran a good 400m for 5th.
Paul Young gained V60 pb's and club records in the shot 6.23 (5th) and 1500m 5.47.9 (3rd).
Pete Mills finished 1st in the High jump and 2nd in the javelin with a new V40 pb and club record of 39.38.
The highlights of the track events were Tony James breaking a 20 year club record in the V45 400m and winning in style in 56.2. Finally, the awesome 4 x 200m relay team of Steve, Graham, Ross and Tony who again broke a club record in 1.48.6. Although 3 of the 4 were V40, the record will stand as a V35 - 39 record due to "youngster" Graham Pratt (V35) taking part.
