Worcester Heart of England Match Report

 At the final Heart of England fixture in Worcester on 8th July 2018 the Male Team finished over all

age categories in 3rd place. The U17 Men finished 1st in their individual age group. The female
team finished over all age categories in 7th place. The combined position of Male and female teams
finished in 6th place out of 8 teams.
 
Cynthia Ike led the way in the sprints. In preparation for the English Schools Championships, she
only competed in the U15 girls 100m on the day, winning the race in a new personal best of 12.6
seconds, to place her 25th in the UK rankings in that event. Stepping up to run the A race in the
200m, Scarlett Maxwell-Munn didn’t disappoint. She ran a personal best of 29.6 seconds, finishing
6th in her race. Cole Sinnott, running in the U15 boys 200m, finished 3rd in his race, recording a
time of 25.6 seconds, just outside of his personal best for the event.
 
In the U17 boys age group, Joe Bradley returned to form, equalling his personal best of 11.6 seconds
in the 100m, and finishing second in the 200m in 23.5 seconds. Lewis-Morgan Barton also put in
some creditable runs in the shorter sprints with times of 11.8 seconds to win the 100m, and 23.8
seconds in the 200m. Josh Gray won his 100m hurdles race in a new personal best of 14.5 seconds,
and also PB’d in the shot with a throw of 8.44 metres.
 
The meeting was Annabelle Clotworthy’s final one for the club before she relocated to another area
with her family. She finished third in her 100m race, equalling her personal best, and finished 4th in
the 200m in a time of 28.1 seconds.
 
The U13 age group didn’t want to get upstaged by the older age groups and all raised their game.
Jasmine Anderson recorded a hat trick of personal bests. Running 14.0 seconds in the 100m, and
29.2 seconds in the 200m, finishing second in both events. She followed this with a leap of 3.73
metres in the long jump. William Robertson competed in the 100m, finishing 4th to equal his
personal best. Sonal Rathod finished second in both of her races, equalling her personal best in a
time of 14.4 seconds, and setting a new personal best of 30.0 in the 200m. She followed this up with
a personal best in the long jump with a jump of 3.81 metres. Also in the long jump, Kaiden Ramsay
jumped a new personal best of 4.48 metres, and Brandon Kwei-Tagoe also PB’d with a jump of 3.43
metres.
 
In multi events, (including those athletes persuaded to do additional events to gain club points) had
a wonderful day of pb’s. William Rawcliffe gained personal bests in all three of his events, high jump
1.20m, hurdles 15.6 and shot 4.53. Also gaining three pb’s was Thomas Leak U13 in 800m 2.58.6,
javelin 16.12 and shot 4.15. Dylan White also U13 gained his in 1500m 5.05.9, shot 4.39 and long
jump 3.68. Kiera Potter also gained three pbs U13G in high jump 1.15 for 2nd and shot 7.78 and
javelin 22.84 where she finished 1 st .
 
Isabella Brockway gained two pbs in 1500m 6.32.9 and javelin 9.41. Morgan Potter doubled up in
the 800m and 400m and still had the energy to long jump for 1st place in a new pb of 5.85.
Jacob Asher-Relf running up an age group in the U15 category finished 2nd in a new pb of 2.18.4.
Lucas Rogers produced a fine run with Dylan White for an A and B string victory in the 1500m U13B.
In the U11 category new recruit Jak Pratt ran well in the 600m in 1.59.6 and 75m 11.6. Theo Garve
jumped to a pb in the long jump 3.43 and howler and sprinted well. Oliver Leak also put in a fine
debut in the 600m, long jump and 75m. The duo of Jemima Davey and Maggie Gancheva both
produced fine performances in the 600m, with Jemima also doing the 75 sprint and relay. Maggie
gained pbs in the howler and long jump.
